I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor (UKCP accredited) and a yoga therapist-facilitator (BWY, Ayurveda dip). I have additional training in mindfulness, authentic movement and restorative movement psychotherapy for trauma. I combine my skills and experience to offer classes and therapy to groups, couples and individuals who benefit from a somatic focus.
Soma means ‘of the body’ and concerns our living, day to day, breathing, feeling, moving, thinking experiences. By listening to ourselves in the here and now, we can explore our personal material and get to know ourselves with courage and acceptance.
Working with the body is a strength based approach, it generates vitality, creativity and personal growth. It supports individuals to find direction and wholeness to resolve/ dissolve any difficult issues or painful experiences.
I am a socially conscious therapist dedicated to uplifting and supporting people from marginalised communities and identities. I work with men, women and young adults of all genders and sexes. I am a culturally sensitive therapist and welcome people of BAME/IBPOC background, including people with invisible disabilities and neuro diversity. I respect differences in sexual orientation, language, class and religious background, age, body ability and shape.
I also offer therapy for perinatal mental health and women’s sexual and reproductive wellbeing, a field I have been working in for 25 years
